Our tips to brighten and smooth the eye contour
Clémence LE SOLLIEC
The eye contour is the thinnest and most fragile area of the face. The skin structure there is slightly different, with an almost non-existent hydrolipidic film and a low concentration of elastin and collagen fibers.
It is also subject to constant micro-muscular contractions while being daily attacked by pollution, screens, and lack of sleep. This impacts the blood and lymphatic microcirculation as well as the skin's elasticity.
The eye contour dehydrates quickly and accumulates toxins, leading to the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines.
The good news is that it's possible to make your gaze smoother and brighter by adopting a few simple daily habits.
1. Hydrate from the inside out
Beautiful skin begins with good hydration. It is generally recommended to drink around 1.5 L of water daily.
If, like me, you find it difficult to take the time to drink water throughout the day, you can adopt the habit of keeping a water bottle right next to you to remind yourself to drink and set a volume goal for the day.
You can also replace water with an infusion (hot or cold).
2. Apply a daily treatment
To counteract the natural lack of hydration around the eyes, it's important to strengthen the skin barrier while maintaining skin elasticity.
You can certainly opt for a botanical oil that you apply to your entire face, including the eye contour. However, it is recommended to use an eye contour treatment to address the specific issues of this area.
3. Massage the eye contour
Proper application technique significantly increases the effectiveness of the product used.
Taking the time to massage the eye contour for 1 or 2 minutes a day helps to restart lymphatic and blood circulation and to relax the highly solicited muscles around the eye.
This helps to prevent or correct the appearance of signs of fatigue (dark circles, puffiness) and fine lines around the eyes.
Feel free to combine it with a cold massage tool (Mushroom, Gua Sha, Cryospoon, or Roller) to further stimulate circulation.
We have prepared a simple and quick routine for you to incorporate into your daily life to smooth and brighten your eyes.

4. Pay attention to your lifestyle
This is the foundation of beautiful skin!
A healthy lifestyle can be compared to the essential foundations for achieving lasting results:
- Prioritize sleep and aim for at least 8 hours per night (generally recommended by doctors, though needs can vary significantly from person to person).
- Maintain a balanced and varied diet, including fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy products, and fiber and carbohydrates. It's also important to minimize salt, which can have a negative effect on microcirculation.
- Minimize alcohol and tobacco consumption as much as possible (which, like salt, impact microcirculation and promote water retention, leading to dark circles and puffiness).
- Get fresh air by taking time to breathe deeply.
- Engage in regular physical activity to boost lymphatic and blood circulation.
5. Stop feeling guilty!
Do your best, step by step. Don't try to change everything at once, but instead focus on making small, sustainable progress over the long term :)
The most important thing is to be consistent to achieve good results.
